We made and early start today so we could get the mast raised before the weather closed in. At the end of the day the guys at the boatyard had lowered the boat to rest on two blocks on the ground to ensure she wouldn’t sway and get damaged during the night.
This seemed an ideal position to to raise the mast as she was at ground level and stable. Raising this time was as easly as every with the fitted winch but the battery was on its last legs so it was low going.
Once up I got started on the split backstay, only to find the wire running rig I wanted to use was cut too short the day before. So with the addition of a small wire strop and the base which positioned the block off the deck all was fine.
